Pair of mid-19th century cast iron door stops or fireside ornaments in the form of a St. Bernard with cask standing on a plinth. These old dogs are still standing, but fare slightly better when leaning. The glossy black original black paint has flaked in places and is fragile in places.
Difficult to find a pair of antique St. Bernard door stops, especially in their original condition.

| Condition: | Original paint has flaked in places and is fragile (brittle) in others. Fine detail to St. Bernards, cask and plinth. Heavy oxidisation on reverse. Presentable in original condition, and could also be restored to former glory as door stop, fireside accompaniment or garden ornament. |
