Vintage Rudge Whitworth Ltd “Britains Best Bicycle” Sign Board

Fantastic old sign board with bright colours and 3-D effect lettering. Two decals on either side with the unmistakable hand-in-wheel logo of Rudge Whitworth Ltd, Nottingham, England . There is some wear to the decals, so please see the photos above. Otherwise, this is a great vintage sign. It’s a large one, and makes a stunning presentation.

This grand sign is truly a museum piece. It was formerly on display in the Mouldsworth Motor Museum near Chester, England, which closed in early 2013. It is genuinely a one-of-a-kind item of vintage cycling advertising and, given its board construction, extremely difficult to find one that has survived so well.

Condition:
In excellent condition – very bright colours, sharp 3-D effect lettering. The decals are scratched and have losses, more so to the decal on the left. The has surface dirt, lift scratches, and some smudges of white (most likely incurred in its original production). A truly unique piece in superb condition.
