RARE Enamel Vintage Kenrick NO 3 Coffee Grinder

£125

Item:            Enamel Vintage Kenrick NO 3 Coffee Grinder – enamel & cast iron
Origin
:          England c. 1920

This fantastic piece of vintage kitchenalia is all original, complete and in working order. It is enamel over iron and retains most of its enamel paint, original wooden handle and has almost no rust (even where enamel has chipped).  The front of the grinder is finished in cream-coloured enamel, trimmed with pastel green, and bears the makers name in transfer over enamel. The back of the grinder, again, bears the makers name and model number, “Kenrick No 3”. The makers name and operating instructions are cast to the back of the grinder with a cream-coloured enamel finish.

The grinder was manufactured by Archibald Kenrick & Sons, a company that was established in 1791 in Spons Lane, West Bromwich, England, as a quality iron foundry. The grinder has survived in exceptional condition. No attempt has been made to clean the item, and there appears to be easily removable dirt in the ridges around the rim/edges, along the handle and in the seam where the bean holder is joined above the handle. It presents exceedingly well in its current state (as can be seen in the images), and will look even more presentable once it is properly cleaned.

Condition:
Excellent antique condition with scattered chips to enamel in the usual places (edges, rim and handle) and in complete working order. A rare and treasured piece in this condition!

This vintage coffee grinder can be wall and counter mounted. A scan be seen in the video below, the grinder works exceedingly well, grinding out a very fine espresso:

Height: 12 inches (30.5cm)
Width: 6.5 inches (16.5cm)
Depth: 10 inches (25cm) from handle to the back of legs/mounts
