Coca Cola Menu Girl Tray

Price Not Announced

Item:     Coca Cola Menu Girl Tray
Origin:  USA, c.1953

One of most iconic of the Coca Cola trays – the ‘Menu Girl’.  produced in 1953.  Although the menu girl had been used in Coca Cola advertising from 1950, she first adorned the tray  in 1953. The tray shows a beautiful young woman at a soda counter holding a Coca-Cola bottle and a menu.

Unlike most Coca-Cola trays that had a solid-coloured inner rim (usually red), this tray depicts the four seasons around its border with different sporting and holiday images. Around the rim it reads: “Thirst knows no season” and “Have a Coke”.  The words “Trade Mark Reg. US Pat Off” appear below the words Coca-Cola in the trademark.

Although it’s not a particularly rare tray, it is still very desirable and difficult to come by here in England – especially in such good condition. A real treat the Coca Cola collector.

The tray is 13.25 inches in height and 10.5 inches wide (33.5 cm x 26.5 cm).

Condition:
Overall the tray is in very good condition. The colours are nice and bright, and there are no scratches or losses. There is tiny scattered pitting around the rim and some minor marks to the back, however the tray still presents brilliantly –  in uber-retro 1950’s fashion.
