Beautifully lithographed and animated tin windup toy by Chein, USA. This lovely chap is dressed in his best circus attire – resembles a gentleman’s riding habit – complete with a red and white spotted cravat.
There is lovely detail in the expression of this little fellow, from his clothing right up to the finely lithographed whiskers on his face. Wind the seal up, and he spins the red ball on his nose while rolling forward – very clever.
The toy works on a fixed key and the windup mechanism operates the wheels and spinning ball. It
measures approximately 4.5 inches long and 4.5 inches tall (14 cm x 14 cm), and bears the Chein USA trademark on its underside.
Condition:
Excellent. The tin litho is in near mint condition as are the wheels. The red wooden ball poised above the seal’s nose has some light browning, but nothing that detracts from the toy’s brilliance.
