This stunning tinplate airplane carousel works much like a top. Raise the spiraling pole from the top of the toy, let it drop and the 1920’s piloted aeroplanes fly around in circles.

The toy was made in an age when when the world was fascinated with the new technology and continual ground-breaking achievements in aviation. Aeroplan toys were all the rage in the 1920’s,  just like this fantastic trio of ‘barnstormers’.

The central portion of the toy is decorated with a ring of lovely, expressive girls and boys holding hands. The top of the toy displays the Buffalo Toys trademark, “made in USA”, and the Aero Speeders name. Each of the planes is complete: they are brightly coloured and have their gold wings, propeller, ruder and a pilot on board. The toy measures approximately 12 inches in height and 6.5 inches in diameter (31 cm x 17 cm).

Condition:
Great working order – nice and bright, wonderful imagery. There is scattered scratches and losses to the gold wing, but minor. A beautiful toy from a by-gone era.
