Victorian Anglo-Irish Crystal Lidded Bowl c.1850-90

A Superb Quality, Hand-crafted Antique Crystal Lidded Bowl – mid to late 19th Century

This exquisite crystal bowl with lid is in excellent condition. It is most likely of Anglo-Irish production during the early to mid 1800’s. The body of the bowl has a deeply cut diamond and starburst pattern and the rim of the bowl is mitre cut, with the lid fitting soundly in place. The lid carries through the diamond and starburst pattern, with a stepped knop handle which is finished at the top in a circular star cut.

The lidded bowl is of high quality, deeply hand-cut and with a slight grey tint typical of the period. When lifting or replacing the lid to the bowl, it makes the most beautiful resounding ring so typical of fine, antique crystal.

Dimensions:
Width: 6.5 inches (16.5 cm)
Height: 5.5 inches (14 cm) with lid in place, measures 3.5 inches (8.75 cm) bowl only
Weight: 3.5 lbs (1.6 kg)

Condition:
There are minor nibbles to the mitred rim and base which are commensurate with age and tiny imperfections owing to its hand-craftsmanship, however, they are much less than would be expected of an item of its years. There are no chips or damage to the item and its minor imperfections do not detract from its beauty and nature as a fine piece of collectible crystal.
